For today's post, I chose Hollywood Walk of Fame, a clear base with teensy-weensy silver bar glitter and multi-colored star glitter.
The stars actually apply better than I thought - here's how I did it: I applied a coat of the polish making sure to scrape the stars off the brush, only leaving the bar glitter on my nail. Then I dipped the brush back in the bottle and swirled it around to get the stars to adhere. While pulling the brush out, I scraped it along the rim which made the stars stick to it. Then I just picked them up with my brush and placed them on my nails - no toothpick needed. The stars don't completely lay flat on the nail, but a thick coat of top coat takes care of most of the gaps.
I really like this glitter! I love star and bar glitters, so I'm probably going to pick up a backup of this. The price for these polishes is $3.49, so I might even get two ;-)
Here's Hollywood Walk of Fame over two coats of Wet n Wild's Saved by the Blue, topped with Pro FX High Gloss Top Coat:

Gorgeous! I finally found this today at my Rite Aid, I was so excited! Great technique to get the stars out, I will have to try it!
ReplyDeleteThank you! It's such a fun glitter.
DeleteThis is such a fun polish! With some of the glitter polishes that require a lot of fiddly "placing", I sometimes wonder if it wouldn't be easier to buy a jar of glitters and stick them on with clear... :\
ReplyDeleteI've done that! But yeah, I avoid some chunky glitters because of that very reason.
DeleteOh god I NEED this polish!
