The first coat goes on really sheer - so sheer, it had me worried. The second coat, however, covers beautifully and if you lay it on thick, it will be opaque. Or, you could just use three thinner coats. I usually love Borghese's stiff brushes, but this one was a little too stiff - I really had to be careful, or it'd dig into the polish already on the nail. Menta's formula was ok. It's a little runny and paired with the stiff brush, it was a little hard to control. All in all, though, it's a great color, and I'll put up with a crappy brush and runny formula for that.
I used three coats of Menta for my pics, over a coat of Seche Vite. No top coat.
